overview
This Senior Capstone course, offered by Portland State University and led by Suzanne Savaria, is an opportunity for students to serve as an independent grantmaking committee. Expressly focused on arts and culture nonprofits in Oregon, grantmakers will distribute $25,000 this fall according to the priorities outlined in their mission statement below.
mission statement
We are a group of interdisciplinary art students at Portland State University seeking to disrupt the status quo through the funding of forward thinking Arts & Culture organizations throughout the State of Oregon. We aim to empower the arts to have a lasting impact on the community. We will be specifically focusing on smaller, developing organizations with a strong identity that provide arts opportunities to underserved and underrepresented groups. We are interested in working with forward thinking organizations that are able to reimagine the relationship between arts and community through non-classical means.
