We celebrated our Portland Metro grantmakers with SEVEN nights of amazing celebrations this May! Yep. You read that correctly. Seven!

Groups from Forest Grove to Corbett made the drive to present their funds directly to nonprofit recipients at Irving Street Studio in NW Portland. These signature events are such a special way to close out the grantmaking experience - a labor of love from all involved. Sixty-nine groups of teens and hundreds of nonprofit representatives were on deck to close out the grantmaking journey. In total, PDX students granted over $900,000 to nonprofits and school programs.

"It's really easy to miss all the work that is happening around you to make the world a better place. You can literally walk right by it and just not even see it. Things like pop-up food markets, free tampons, and CSAs to support BIPOC farmers. All kinds of things! Being part of the grantmaking process really shines a light on all the wonderful problem solving and empathy that takes place in our community that is so often overlooked or invisible." - Milana, Grant HS

Our events aren't open to the public, but local news stations were on hand to help us share the good news. Thanks, KOIN, KGW, KPTV, and KATU!
